Shoreditch’s Lena Restaurant, with its proximity to the City, has fast become a meeting point for cool creative and corporate clientele alike.
With its regularly changing menu, Lena, a family business, consistently produces innovative Italian fare, whilst being one of the few Italian restaurants in the capital to make its own fresh pasta, bread and confectionery. The restaurant also insists on using only the best product, which means every dish is both fresh and absolutely delicious - to name but a few, homemade black pasta, mussels and clams; hand-dived scallop, baby leaf spinach and cherry tomato; grilled veal chop, served with wild mushrooms and a wild mushroom jus, on a roasted polenta cake.
On the special offers menu, choose from starter dishes such as mussels, white wine, cream, shallots and parsley, or venison carpaccio, rocket, parmesan and olive oil, followed by char-grilled fillet of salmon and caponata, or fresh homemade pappardelle, Italian sausage, cherry tomatoes and chilli. End a perfect meal with a classic tiramisu; homemade ice cream or sorbet; fig, pear and almond tart, or cinnamon ice cream.
Large party menus are also available (three courses £29, excluding service) and look out for live jazz evenings. Book a table in the bar on a Saturday evening and enjoy listening to some great soul, jazz and blues vocals. |
